EDIT: Since this came up a few times, yes I do know she looks too relaxed considering the pose she's hanging in, and yes it's a mistake but a mistake I made consciously. Originally I indented way more web holding her in place, but it would cover up too much of her body and wings so I chose not to paint it that way after all. I chose aesthetics over realism, I know ideally it should be both but eh sometimes things don't work out that way.

When I first started to draw in 2003, I was pretty much obsessed with drawing demonic women (as seen on my 2003 - 2009 timeline), or precisely women with reptile wings. One of these sketches was the girl in a gothic dress going through a demonic transformation or some kind. I was going though my old sketches thinking about revisiting some of these old ideas, and decided I should redo this one, but in a more mature manner.
Amazing concept and amazing artwork. I don't actually mind the relaxed expression, to me its like shes finally completed a change and now shes free, free to leave, fly away. But that's just my interpretation *shrugs*
I love the webbing, how its all soft looking, the strands like silk or lace, but still trapping her. Your colours and shading are also well done
Thank you very much! I like your interpretation. I try not to use the "but this is fantasy!" argument much when people question things like gravity etc. but I just like the image much better this way. I'm glad you like it, and appreciate the details.
